During your holiday with family or friends, from the Vacanzemaremma facilities you could reach the Medieval town of Magliano by bike in around 40 minutes. First of all follow the bike path to Albinia, then go on along country roads between fields and grazing lands until you will reach the hill of the town which dominates the valley offering a beautiful view from Monte Argentario to the Orbetello Lagoon.

People who prefer driving will reach the town of Magliano in Toscana in 15 minutes more or less. Our advice is to have a walk along the walls which enclose the historic centre and take some pictures of the valley with olive tree groves and vineyards, then visit the tiny streets of the old town and the typical local shops.

In the biggest square it is possible to visit the Romanesque style San Giovanni Battista Church in which you could admire some frescoes of the Sienese domination.

Before going back to your accommodation you have to taste some local dishes in one of the traditional Tuscan trattoria which offer specialities such as the tagliatelle pasta with porcini mushrooms or truffle, Florentine steak, homemade biscuits and cakes combined with perfumed local wines.

On your way back do not forget to have a stop in the fascinating San Bruzio Abbey, a few kilometres far from the town, surrounded by the Maremma countryside. There are only some ruins of this imposing Benedictine church which has a story full of myths and legends. A story says that in this isolated church pregnant nuns give birth to their secret children, in fact here no one would have heard the screams of the mothers. Then some discreet local families were entrusted with the babies.
